task Design a poster and bookmarks for the CCSF Rosenberg Library’s spring art exhibition series.

challenge The client wanted a design which incorporated the exhibition’s themes of thriving, blossoming and growth while attracting a broader audience to the library and expanding the library’s identity beyond solely a destination for school research.

solution Shirking the obvious direction of visual depictions of nature, the design rested on a minimalist grid-based approach which mirrored modern art gallery design and displayed the quality of the individual exhibits while rebranding the library as a thriving hub for cultural enrichment. The client’s connoted messages were suggested through image layout and content choices that evoke plurality, growth, and global reach.
