task Conceive an app of the future, and design an interface and promotional website, for a CCSF Advanced Photoshop class.

challenge In response to the astonunding number of design solutions geared towards satisfying (predominately) male sexual desire, I envisioned a satirical app which would satisfy the stereotype of heterosexual women’s desire: a titillating conversation; while acknowledging our increased reliance on technology might actually hinder such opportunities.

solution The Cyrano app intends to improve user personality by feeding witty and intelligent one-liners and conversation starters, inspired by historical celebrities, to an ear piece worn by the user. Both the app design and web mockup mimic functionality while also reflecting the satirical nature of the project. The skeumorphic design – popular at the time – makes a satirical comment on our dependence on technology for retrieving information instead of our own memory and intelligence, while also appealing to an adult male demographic that enjoys technological toys.
